Well, I've had my ipad for a whole week now, and apparently I am allergic to doing any real work on it. It's not for lack of trying. I bought Pages and Keynote. I spent hours looking online for a decent printing options (on the iPad of course)- of course I spent $10 on a pseudo-solution but it was well reviewed.
Also, I've downloaded a ton of other apps (and by ton, I mean about 7). So far they have all been overpriced compared to their iPhone counterparts, and none have really captured my attention.
I'm trying to figure out when the newness wore off from my iPhone and when I really began to treat it like it wasn't so cool. Therein lies the problem, I still love my iPhone. I bought the first generation iPhone, and it was very limited in what it could do. That didn't stop me from filling it up with web apps. When they opened the device for native apps it was like I got a whole new device as well as GPS.
Due to an unfortunate accident I did get a 3GS and do love the video functionality and the better processor. Again, at one point I had jail broken the phone and had a multitasking, wifi hotspot with snes emulation. Through yet another accident, I have replaced the phone under warranty and still love it eve through I haven't jailbroken this one.
So this brings me to now and my new iPad. I've had it a week and I do everything I can to use it. I have woken up with it in my lap at least five times. I have watched a complete Netflix movie (trial account and I waited Food, Inc so now I can't eat), and I've downloaded the over the top iPhone/iPad games where the iPhone is the controller for the iPad game (pad racer).
I like it, but don't love it yet. I want to love it. I'm typing this little ditty and like it. It's just that for a revolutionary device, I'm still stuck comparing it to my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. I'm looking for the things i can do with it that it does better than the other two. I've got a short list, browse while on the couch; look at photos; watch tv in bed; read books anywhere; and impress my friends. Yet, I'm still not loving it. I'm gonna be patient though. If for no other reason than, i've got to get my money's worth out of it.
When I love it, I I'm sure you'll be the first to know.
